Accelerated Resolution Therapy
what is Accelerated resolution therapy (a.r.t.)?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy, or ART, is a type of counseling that helps people work through distressing memories, emotions, or patterns without having to go into great detail about the events if an individual doesn’t want to. It’s based on the way our brains naturally process information. During a ART session, your therapist will guide you through a combination of eye movements, relaxation, and visualization techniques. This helps your brain reprocess difficult memories so they lose their painful impact.
One of the unique things about ART is that people often feel relief more quickly than with traditional talk therapy - sometimes in just a few sessions. You will still remember what happened, but the memory won’t trigger the same strong emotions or physical reactions. ART is safe, non-invasive, and you’re in control the entire time. The client can also choose how much or how little they share with their therapist as they go through the process together.
ART can be used for all types of things such as (but not limited to): military/first responders, abuse, addictions, releasing anger, anxiety, bullying/victimization, codependency, depression, dissociative disorders, dreams interpretation and nightmares, eating disorders, grief and loss, hoarding, marital problems/infidelity, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pain management, panic attacks, phobias, public speaking, sexual abuse/assault, sexual addictions/pornography, sleep problems, and social anxiety.
If you have some distressing memories, emotions, patterns, or physical bodily reactions to triggers and you would like to give ART a try, contact Farrann for a free consultation.
